Happy Birthday Sara!
I want to be the first person to wish you well on this important day.
I see you are still at an age where the candles do not cost more than the cake!

I think Nick turns 70 this year, so we are like children in comparison...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Nick. I just found this. My computer totally went haywire and i had to send it back to the shop. Just got it back today. Thank you so much for remembering. I don't know about being younger than my candles. LOL. I was at a total lost without my computer, not a good thing. It is fixed and i am back. Hope you all had a good week. :D

Sara,
Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your computer. If it is a Windows box, I recommend everyone learn how to do a Restore. (I wipe my computer clean and reload everything at least once a year. Fortunately, I am Microsoft-certified!)

Now I am a student. This is my first computer, only had it for a few months. What is restore, how do you do it. I am so amazed at people who can do this. You must be extremely talented.

I have to admit I have become quietly addicted to Mah Jong. I did not want to put this on another thread, but I found a wonderful archive website called hermetics. org. There are quite a few articles and lectures by the Theosophical Society. There was one lecture I watched by Dr. John Algeo on Krishnamurti's book At The Foot Of The Masters. I would like to read this book as it sounds wonderful. The Dr. made a joke that this is one of the smaller books Theosophy teaches. There are articles on Madame Blavatsky and quite a few reads. It covers all kind of studies, but I headed right to Theosophy. Does anyone else know about this site? I actually found it quite by accident as I am studying Alchemy and stumbled on it. I was delighted with all the information on Theosophy.

Sara,
I think Nicholas (another member with the same name as me) posted that link a while ago.
To "restore" a computer mean to put in a Restore Disk. The Restore Disk wipes everything off the computer, and puts on a brand new copy of Windows. Be careful, as everything on the computer gets wiped out!
You may not know that At The Feet Of The Master is one of the best-selling Theosophical books of all time.

I did not know that. I am putting it on my book list to order next month and am looking forward to reading it.

My computer totally crashed and I lost everything. I couldn't even get my emails. I have a friend coming over to try to get it back. I didn't put anything on a disk. The sad part is my children's book is being published on line in a few months and I lost some of my notes. Anyway, wanted to let you know I read At The Feet Of The Masters. I enjoyed it because it was written so that everyone could understand it. He is straight and to the point, but his words were very beautiful. It is the first time I have ever read anything by Krishnamurti. Some of Madame Blavatsky's works are so hard for beginners as she writes in parables, but his book along with Katherine Tingley's should actually be taught in the lower schools. Perhaps if it was done ,there would be far less problems as one gets older. I am writing fast as my friend said get in and get out. Thank you for the link. Hopefully I will be back on my feet soon.

Sara,
I am sorry to hear that your computer crashed. It sounds like you did not back up any copies of your files. I hope you can get those files off of your hard drive. They may still be there.
In the future, if you have a CD burner in your computer, try to burn a copy of all your files onto CD once a month. Put all of your files into your My Documents, and burn the entire My Documents folder onto CD once a month.

My friend fixed it. I have no idea what he did. Nick, what's a CD burner? This is my first computer, haven't had it that long. I was using my husband's before now I have mine. Remember when you called a person up on a phone or wrote them letters. I am not that old, but sometimes. LOL. I have been so busy lately with my other studies and such, I need a long long vacation of no books, no computers, no technology. So my husband and I have decided to take five days of living as simply as possible. I have alerted all the media and family. LOL. We plan on planting our first vegetable garden, tending to things around the house and our animals. I think it is good sometimes to just be and shut out the real world. So thank you for your good thoughts. I will be back in a week. Oh yes, a happy fourth of July to you and your family and all the members here.
