I wanted to take a quick look at this book by Rudolf Steiner.

Christian,

You should touch base with a guy named Bruce Michael at the Comparative Religions Forum.

http://comparative-religion.com/forum/

He is a big fan of Steiner's.

Christian,

You said,

"Theosophy must be a labor of love for you."

--> It is. Theosophy is one of the few voices in the world that directly confronts negative religious dogma. I am only too happy to contribute to such a noble goal.

"The referenced forum does not seem so very open to varied belief systems, regardless its forums named to that effect."

--> Most people there are very closed-minded, and personal attacks often go un-condemned. I suppose that is the state of the average person in the world today...?

"You are a brave soul."

--> I am. I am willing to go the extra mile to spread the Theosophical message. Something we must all remember is, do not waste the time of people who do not want to listen. And certainly, arguing about all of this stuff is a mistake. Theosophy is very much against (1) prostelytizing and (2) condemning other people's belief systems.

"I admit, I felt like I was back in the 70's during my first run-through. I am sure I will venture forth again, but will likely return here to bandage my wounds."

"You will have to share your swiss-cheese approach to engagement."

--> Theosophy is, above all else, a set of concepts. The trick is to get people talking about specific concepts, show how logic and common sense usually defeat dogma, and learn to put the personal attacks aside. The success rate is extremely low. However, even at that low success rate, it is still worth it.

Hang in there. The fact that you are a medium with direct access to "the other side of death" may reach people that cannot be reached any other way.

Your contributions here and at the other Forum are huge. We are looking forward to reading more about the amazing amount of personal experience you have to offer.

"It's like a maid going into an Estate that has never been cleaned. Where does one begin?"

--> I find, however, that there is no more noble cause.

Christian: I am sure it will creep in now and then, although I try not to emphisize it as it can tend to change the focus of conversations. Point taken though, sometimes it can be a contribution in itself.

Why not start a thread "A Psychic's View" or some such? I am not sympathetic, in general, to such stuff - but I am open to truth wherever it is.

If the dedicated thread does not appeal, maybe appraise some of the many psychics (or whatever) that sprang up in the movement. Here is an article by one of them on angels. What do you think?
