Hi everybody!

Once, in a while, we all come across quotes in HPB's writings that are quite profound. Please share them in this thread. Here is one I came across today.

~~~
"Lift thy head, oh Lanoo; dost thou see one, or countless lights above thee, burning in the dark midnight sky?"
"I sense one Flame, oh Gurudeva, I see countless undetached sparks shining in it."
"Thou sayest well. And now look around and into thyself. That light which burns inside thee, dost thou feel it different in anywise from the light that shines in thy Brother-men?"
"It is in no way different, though the prisoner is held in bondage by Karma, and though its outer garments delude the ignorant into saying, 'Thy Soul and My Soul.' "
(quoted in SD vol 1 p 120)
SD vol 1 pp 106-135
The function of Theosophists is to open men's hearts and understandings to charity, justice, and generosity, attributes which belong specifically to the human kingdom and are natural to man when he has developed the qualities of a human being. Theosophy teaches the animal-man to be a human-man; and when people have learned to think and feel as truly human beings should feel and think, they will act humanely, and works of charity, justice, and generosity will be done spontaneously by all.
I like this one by her. Actually I would be hard press not to not like anything by her. They just get better and better everyday. I hope i have made sense i went for two days on two hours of sleep. :(
