This is my first time through cover to cover. I'm about 140 pages in to Vol II.
Jon,
The amazing thing about the Secret Doctrine is that you can open it up to any page and find something fascinating to discuss.
SD vol II p. 140 has the topics:
* The idea that the Manu, not Noah, participated in the Flood.
* The idea of Kriyasakti
* That we have had four Manus (with three yet to appear).
* The idea of a Kali Yuga.
-- Any one of these would make a good topic for a Theosophical discussion.

SD vol II p. 140 is part of the explanation for Stanza ii-6-23, which talks about the first and second races.
“Neither water nor fire could destroy them. Their sons were so destroyed.”
“... the First Root-Race, the ‘Shadows’ of the Progenitors, could not be injured, or destroyed by death. Being so ethereal and so little human in constitution, they could not be affected by any element — flood or fire. But their ‘Sons,’ the Second Root-Race, could be and were so destroyed.” (SD vol II p. 138)
The first race had no physical bodies (and no intelligence). I can only imagine what the conditions of such an existence must have been.
