Hello All

I been reading The Secret Doctrine and Isis Unveiled in my spare time. I also read other articles such as most but not all of Geoffrey Farthing articles and maybe some other authors. Formerly a christian and the reason I left because it was not providing me with any answers to who I am or simply the Truth to why we are here and who I am. But now I know within myself of where I am headed and who I am in the Cosmos. I am mainly trying to stick with HPB'S works and studying some of the other orginal founders. Basicially trying to stay the course on what the original purpose of some of this Theosophy or Very Ancient Knowledge was given out by the Adepts the Mahatmas in trying to create a BrotherHood and thereby speed up the process of Humanities Spiritual development. That is being Altruistic by each of us helping people and Nature herself. Creating a BrotherHood is going to be one big monumental task. I am not perfect yet have many faults and defects I guess the Great Universal Law Karma will fix that in my next host of personalities. :D I now understand the Big Picture that we are all on a long and difficult journey to Spiritual perfection that is becoming once more One with the Unknown Deity that sent us all as Eternal Spirits on this extremely Long and Arduous Journey. I know I am an Eternal Spirit or Eternal Individual Picking up each Spiritual experiance that feeds my Eternal Spiritual Ego or Individual through the many personalities I live and will grow more in Wisdom and develope more Spiritual Faculties as my inner Eternal Spirit takes more control and radiates more of my inner Spiritual Light to each of my personalities and becomes more perfected as a Spiritual Being where at long last I will be finally a Spiritually enhanced Human ready to advance to the next stage of Evolution of ever becoming.

I know the christian God is man made since he is created in our Human Image.
And Understand that many of the Great Old Religions of the past have their basis in the very ancient Wisdom Religion even these religions spritual truths had many of their ancient text corupted many times by Power Hungry individuals such as the priesthood. And they still exist today the Black Magicians trying to thwart the Spiritual development of Humanity and Nature by creating a Hegemonia (New World Order) against are Spiritual development by enslaving humanity by keeping us in the dark ages and enslaved to the Old Order and Old Religions.

Well that is my understanding of Life and where I am headed.

Here to fellowship with fellow Theosophist. Also looking forward to reading other peoples articles and pick up some more knowledge on the subject of Theosophy. :D

--> You are I are in the same boat! That is exactly what happened to me.

--> That is what I like best about Theosophy -- it makes sense. I have not found such common sense anywhere else.

--> I agree. I feel the purpose of Theosophy is to speed up our travel through the Initiations. (Other theosophists seem to disagree....)

--> That is what I think we will all be doing once we achieve Nirvana -- going around and doing nothing but nice things for each other.

--> As I have already said, I think Theosophy gives us that Big Picture more learly than anything else.

--> This is a major theme in the Secret Doctrine.

A little background on myself.
Live in the USA and located in the state of Kentucky. I am 49 years of Age.
Have a background in Electronics. I Know the Basic Laws of Physics, Math up to Algebra, Geometry , Pre Calculus stuff and Some Science. As a child I was basically curious about nature and the Stars (Astronomy) and was sort of an explorer or young Scientist complete with either a microscope or latter me and my Dad built a 6 inch Reflector Type Telescope without no Clock Drive. My Dad when he was around was also inquisitive about things himself although he died in 1988. He had an IQ of around 270 and joined the Mensa Club. I was viewed by the school psychologist as of average intelligence due to my extremely quiet nature and was very introverted and maybe withdrawn as an individual. But my dad always believed in me since I am the oldest of 5 brothers and one sister. As a result of being tagged as of average intelligence I found myself being placed in slower education system down to the special education level. Although my dad believed I was perhaps smarter then he is. He mentioned to me Son if you want to be a garbage collector and if that truely makes you happy I will continue to love you. Our Dad loved his kids very much even though he had problems himself but would always try help other people as well. But I discovered a pecuilar gift I have one that is creative. I could not draw a straight line or never considered myself an artist (could not draw a picture perfect replica just did not have the talent). Usually in school we had to do an Art project I decide on a particular layout color and pattern. So after I am done people look at this thing I created and are quite impressed and this is not a fluke. I have seen this thing repeat with other people responding in a simlar fashion. Well it may not happen every time depends on the situation or maybe me.

Presently I am a Hobbyist C++ Programer and into Computer Graphics Programing simlar to what you find in the modern PC games. And I read as well lattely more and more on subjects of Theosophy to try to understand better the Big Picture of what Life really is all about.

I have not quite gone through the books I mentioned such as the Secret Doctrine or Isis Unveiled. I believe I been reading through around Stanza 5 on page 120. I have just started some time ago. I dont' think you can just speed read the Secret Doctrine without gaining any lasting Knowledge and Understanding. With me I readed it and I have to stop and think about it or maybe the better word is meditate on and wait for the some of the Dots to be connected in my mind. The Secret Doctrine requires a lot of medation. I am sort of Auditory that is what One Psychic I trust and consulted with said about me. Example last night I signed up for the fist time to your forum never was a lurker of your forum just as I was reading the Secret Doctrine A thought poped into my head or being "Search for a Theosophy forum" this is 2nd nature to me so I stoped what I was doing proceed load up google search and pop in some key words as hooks to located your site and bingo to my supprise their you be.

Isis Unveiled seems to be easy reading covering a whole host of Esoteric Facts that may not be known to me at the time. So it will take me some time in understanding some of the deep stuff that is in the Secret Doctrine. I have looked at your Thread Commentary and information on the Stanza of Dyzan which helps me bring things into focus which may be difficult for me to get out in one reading of the Secret Doctrine. As I am reading I do pick things up and try to connect the DOTs to some degree in my mind. But I will have to reread the Secret several times before more things sink in. I have not read the whole book yet. I have an open mind about things but I am cautious as well and what a delima in trying to discern what is truth. I guess this would be a highly sought after ability to not have to guess if it is the truth but just to know. Nick you ask the question How has my spiritual journey affected me personally? I can not remember what my other lives were about but at this instance in time I am aware of me Doug the personality but what of my next life will be which baffles me. And in this stage of my life I have become awakened to some very deep and profound spiritual stuff contained in HPB works and other authors. Life will certainly be an adventure in my next lives if I ever get off this train before reaching the 7th Root Race at the 7th round and go to the head of the class (Reduction in incarnations). In answer to your question this knowledge has opened my eyes to the mysteries of Life and the Cosmos and has affected me deeply knowing that I will always exist and for a greater purpose. For that matter never was created nor ever will be destroyed as far as the my individual spiritual Ego is concerned. Since One of Laws of Physics says Energy is neither created nor destroyed but can only be tranformed from one form to another.
If I had a choice for my next life I would probably try to seek out a Great Teacher of the Ancient mysteries and seek to be a student of his to speed up my Spiritual Evolution. :rolleyes:

I have been reading some of the peoples comments of the forum to help me connect some DOTS in enabling me to better comprehend the various topics and concepts of Theosophy.

--> Maybe someday you can make it out for one of the summer Theosophical conventions in California. I understand Wheaton also puts on conventions.

--> As a matter of fact, I was just looking at models of the Milky Way galaxy on the Internet. Fascinating!

--> Theosophy gives me a better Big Picture than anything else I have found.

--> I have researched the Stanzas, and I am trying to interpret what they mean. For example,

i-5-20. FOHAT TAKES FIVE STRIDES¹ (having already taken the first three), AND BUILDS A WINGED WHEEL² AT EACH CORNER OF THE SQUARE³ FOR THE FOUR HOLY ONES . . . . . AND THEIR ARMIES⁴ (hosts).

¹ “From a Cosmic point of view, Fohat taking ‘five strides’ refers here to the five upper planes of Consciousness and Being, the sixth and the seventh (counting downwards) being the astral and the terrestrial, or the two lower planes.” (SD vol I p. 122)

² “... the four Maharajahs ... are called the Avengers, and the ‘Winged Wheels.’ ” (SD vol I p. 126) “The ‘Four Holy Ones’ are the four Angels of Regents who rule over the Cosmic Forces. They are given the names North, East, West, and South, each force having a distinct occult property.” (SD vol I p. 122).

³ The “Square” and its four corners refers to the “Four Holy Ones” (mentioned later in the same sentence).

⁴ “Army” refers to all levels of all Hierarchies in manifestation. [The] “... hierarchy of spiritual Beings, through which the Universal Mind comes into action, is like an army — a ‘Host,’ truly — by means of which the fighting power of a nation manifests itself, and which is composed of army corps, divisions, brigades, regiments, and so forth, each with its separate individuality or life, and its limited freedom of action and limited responsibilities; each contained in a larger individuality, to which its own interests are subservient, and each containing lesser individualities in itself.” (SD vol I p. 38)

I interpret Sloka i-5-5 to mean The five upper Planes of Existence appear. The Four Sacred Ones, along with their Hierarchies, appear.

--> I wish I was psychic, so I could answer your question! However, all we can do is work to make faster progress along the Path, and be helpful whenever we come across an opportunity to be helpful.

--> Oh, I think you will hit Enlightenment way before the end of the 49th world-period in our present Manvantara. (Present-day Earth is the 28th world-period so far.)

--> I was just comnparing my life to the goofy guys I work with. All they live for is to party. For me, I live to increase my speed to Enlightenment.

--> When the student is ready the teacher will be provided. I believe we already have teachers, we just cannot see them. However, it sure would be nice to have in here on Earth that we could talk to!
