Title: Question on Mahatmas

ChristianMyst - December 19, 2006 05:17 AM (GMT)
Has there been any current information or publications about the Mahatmas? I have not noticed anything since the Letters/A.P.S.

Much time has transpired since the events cronicled in the Letters. I understood the Mahatmas were going to be, how should I say, "unavailable" for a while. Was wondering if there was anything new on this. Not that I intend to follow in someone's footsteps and track them down to persuade them to do demonstrations, just wanted to know what was going on with them.

Christian,

We have a thread on this topic.

The Mahatmas are supposed to re-release the Ancient Wisdom at the end of every century, but we are not sure where the 1900's release was.

Where did you hear they would be "unavailable"?

The general theory was, in Blavatsky's time, that the Mahatmas would become unavailable after 1897 - until 1975.
Obviously by now 1997 has passed by already, so right now one would expect the real mahatmas (whoever they are) to again only be available to people who deserve to be their students.

I don't think 'where' the Mahatmas were is so much the question (after all space isn't really supposed to limit them), but who their messengers were/are. Personally I feel the Tibetan Buddhist revival and spread to the west are the best candidate - with Ken Wilber a close second. Some feel the 'Theosophical History movement' was inspired by Them.
