GRS Mead translated this ancient vision of the after-death state.
Aridaeus' Vision
Nicholas,
Thanks for posting the link. It looks interesting. Let's see if I can find some time to go through the whole document.
Nicholas' link here is to www.gnosis.org which is the website of Dr. Stephan Hoeller's Gnostic Society. Stephan has been a member of the (Adyar) TS for over 50 years, and has lectured regularly for the TS, at the (now closed) PRS, and at the Gnostic Society. He is considered a leading authority on gnosticism (tho not a scholar like Pagels). He is a practicing Bishop of the modern Gnostic church.
He has written several books on gnosticism and C. G. Jung's interests in gnosticism.
Quest Books recently published a single volume edition of G. R. S. Mead's Echoes of the Gnosis, in which Stephan provides commentary.
If anyone gets the opportunity to hear Stephan speak, I highly recommend attending. He is a brilliant lecturer, and highly entertaining as well.
www.gnosis.org has most of G. R. S. Mead's work online, as well as Dr. Hoeller's lectures. The website is a treasure trove of information on gnosticism and related subjects.
My personal favorite is "The Hymn of the Robe of Glory" from Mead's Echoes. I should post the link to this gnostic hymn in the Path topic.
