Nick expressed interest in the Yoga sutras of Patanjali and WQ Judge's commentary is very good.
But here is one by Swami J who is alive and in Florida.

There is much material on the Yoga Sutras by Swami Jnaneshvara Bharati; here is a place to start.

Nicholas,
I am curious; have you been able to use any of the Yoga Sutras? It seems that there is so much information, it is hard for a person to even know where to start.

Yes Nick, the sutras are not laid out for beginners, without a guru. I would suggest reading about & pondering on and then trying to practice the first two of the eight elements or steps of Yoga.

are listed in order of practice and eventual mastery.
The work of I.K. Taimni (not online I think) on Yama and Niyama is a good introduction to the Yoga Sutras I think. He also did a translation/commentary on the Yoga Sutras: 'The Science of Yoga' (also not online). Both are still in print, I'm sure at the Adyar TS.
