Title: Hammer on the Mountain
Description: Book about H.S. Olcott

I'm reading Hammer on the Mountain by Howard Murphey on the life of H.S. Olcott. Interesting as it also includes material on his life before the TS. It turns out Olcott had proved his honesty, daring and clear mind during his years as an investigator for the Northern army in the American Civil War. He was the lead investigator and looked into corruption. He was under constant threat from those exposed or risking exposure, yet he did not waver. He showed the kind of character that is very rare. I guess this was part of why the Hodson-committee could only decide he had to have been duped by Blavatsky, because to accuse him of dishonesty was just way to unlikely, as he had proven his exceptional honesty years before.
