Title: Adding links to posts

Here is a little lesson on how to add links to a post.

For example, I will type a URL, with no formatting done to it, just the URL:

http://www.blavatsky.net

As you can see, the link created itself automatically.

Let's try it in a sentence:

I went to http://www.blavatsky.net yesterday.

Again, the link created itself with no problem.

Now, I will type the URL with a period right after it:

I went to http://www.blavatsky.net.

The forum software was able to separate the period away from the link.

How about using a question mark:

Did you go to http://www.blavatsky.net?

Again, the froum software splil the link off from the question mark.

Now, let's practice using the http:// button at the top of the Compose Post window.

Click on the http:// button. A new window will pop up. Inside the window, the letters http:// will already appear. I type in www.blavatsky.net into that window (Do not erase the http:// during this process.) Hit the OK button. A new window will then pop up. Inside it it will say My Webpage. I erase the words My Webpage, and type in Blavatsky Net.

Here is the result: Blavatsky Net

~~~
If you wish the link to appear letter for letter, just type it in (http....).
IF you want the link to appear with a title superimposed on top of it (the www.blavatsky.net link is hidden under the words "Blavatsky Net") then use the http:// button.
So one does not have to use the Code Button if you remember to insert the http:// before the rest? Then to do a series of URLs, in one post, one does not have to go in and out using Edit button - if one remembers or has written down all the URLs involved?
Correct. Let's watch as I type in some URL's:
www.blavatsky.net
http://www.blavatsky.net
The above URL's are just as I typed them, letter for letter. The software automatically make a link out of the second one, but not the first one.
"... one does not have to go in and out using Edit button - if one remembers or has written down all the URLs involved?"
--> Correct. Just type them in. Of course, if you use Cut and Paste to get them from the original source, that makes it A LOT easier.
