Title: a little about me
Description: common interests

Ro-fhessa - March 19, 2006 07:49 AM (GMT)
My name is V Sean W Bambrough. I am about 30 yrs old, and single. Unfortunately, I have anxiety/obsessive compulsive disorder which house-binds me. 2 yrs ago I had a crisis and lost 15 yrs worth of study/resaerch notes/resources. I have been interested in ancient history, mythology, linguistics, religion and politics since my teen age years. Amoungst my possible discoveries are Atlantis, Eden, first synchronism of Joseph with a historical culture phase, and links between a number of gods names around the world. I hate living in New Zealand, my ideal location would be more the likes of England because I feel an ancestral/historic/cultural tie to that part of the world. On my father's side I am a descendant of a Prussian/German prince. Some of my favourite historical characters are Jesus Christ, Robin Hood, Adolf Hitler. I was looking for forums etc to interact with people with similar interests, recover my lost information and to publicise my "discoveries"/connections.

My common connection with Theosophy is that my religion and politcs is what I call Pan(en)theist/Monist/Corporativist/Organic/Folkish/anti-dualist/Theocratic/microcosm-macrocosm/holistic/dialectic though I don't call myself a theosophist or any thing else (and I also believe the bible.)

Hi Sean, welcome to the Forum.

I am interested in hearing how your ideas relate to Theosophy. For example, Atlantis is covered in the Theosophical literature.

Do you have any contact with Theosophists in New Zealand?

Hello Nick, thanks for replies.
I have been into visit the Wellington theosophical branch/library sometimes but because I live in Upper Hutt plus have OCD plus the branch is only open on certain day(s)/times I have not been able to become a regular participating member as I would have liked to. Also many times I have tried to find friends/groups in NZ who are interested in my fields whether theosophists or not but never have been able to find anyone.
I have to say that my Atlantis theory/thesis is quite different to the theosophical one as given by Scott-Elliot, though there is no reason why they can't be synthesised.

Sean,

I hope that perhaps some Theosophical folks in NZ will read this, and point you in the direction of finding Theosophical folks in Upper Hutt.

I see that the book by Scott-Elliot is online. I hope to find time to take a look at it:

Here are two more references to Atlantis in Theosophical literature:

Hey Nick, many thanks for the links esp the Scott-Elliot one, is his Lemuria one online too?. There is a "metaphysica"l interpretation of Atlantis at http://www.eridu.co.uk you may find interesting, I believe it was both historical and "metaphysical".
Just in case you think I'm only here to post my topics: I intend to reply to some of the topics in the Concepts and the Religions & Philospohies sooner or later but it takes time.
Also if you have picked up hints that I'm not a theosophist: I am unable to identify wholly with any of the "religious/political"/etc groups around but I do share some common ground with theosophy as I already said and would join if circumstances allowed. If there is any way I can help the forum I'd be glad to if I'm able.

Sean,

I have not seen a Scott-Elliot Lemuria link. Perhaps a Google search would turn up something.

You said,

"I am unable to identify wholly with any of the "religious/political"/etc groups around but I do share some common ground with theosophy...."

--> There are very few people who accept every teaching in Theosophy. This is a good thing, in that it teaches us to be discriminating. It sounds like you have some Theosophical ideas in your belief system, just like the rest of us. I will be curious to hear which Theosophical concepts you do and do not have in your belief system.
